On Thursday, the 19-year-old star shared a photo of herself on Instagram from a recent spread in GQ Mexico.
In the caption for the post, Thorne revealed how she explicitly asked the magazine not to retouch the photo despite having "insecurities about pretty much everything."
She went on to share a positive message about self-acceptance: "Know that it's completely normal to feel insecure. [...] Honestly, I wish everyone talked more about their insecurities so more people in the world could know they aren't alone."

The actress also explained how public figures are often retouched in magazines to avoid "public trashing" of their perceived flaws or insecurities. "Cuz yeah, if they show my acne scars or a wrinkle in my forehead or my teeth aren't perfectly white, people will look at the photo and say, 'No, she's not perfect,'" Thorne wrote.
She continued: "But f--- it, I'm here to tell you that's right, I'm not F------ PERFECT. I'M A HUMAN BEING AND I'M REAL. So hip hop your a---- over the fence and GET OVER IT."
Thorne has been outspoken about her insecurities in the past. Last week, the actress opened up about her struggles with acne on Twitter. "When you don't wanna come over cuz your face is so red and he's like bella is still bella,'" she wrote, presumably about her rumored boyfriend Lil Peep.
Earlier this month, she slammed trolls who called her breasts "rotten" after Perez Hilton posted a photo of the actress in which one of her lower breasts was exposed.
"I hope no one does this to your daughter," Thorne said to Hilton on Twitter. She also criticized the blogger for attempting to body- and slut-shame her. "You tag Charlie and like other guys on my body trying to start drama and trying to make me feel disgusting...like they own my body," she tweeted.

Thorne, who struggles with a skin condition called dermatitis, has also shared numerous photos of herself without makeup on across her many social media accounts.
"You go out and people think you're dirty, that you're, like, disgusting. That you must not take care of yourself because you're uncleanly because you have acne. [...] Just recently I started to become okay with it,β the actress told People in June.
